For the week of May 6th…
Rain! We had 10-15mm last week and then Monday night got another 15-27mm across the farm. As dry as it has been, it is nice to see some moisture! The rest of the week looks good once this system passes through, with daily highs at or above 20C.
Between the rain events last week we managed to get a couple days in the field with all 3 drills. In total we got 7% of the crop seeded, with two drills going in malt barley (38% planted) and one drill in wheat (11% planted). The nice thing about getting a few days of operating before a delay is we ran everything and found a few issues that now we have time to resolve / repair.
It will likely be later Wednesday or Thursday before it gets dry enough to get back in the field again – once we do, we should be able to make some good time!
